THE PLACE WE COME FROM
The vernacular study in the villages of Tikamgrah district, Madhya Pradesh exposed a different and raw form of lifestyle. Mapping out the brief experience of the village culture an integrated exhibition of the various projects executed in the graphics and the design studio was conducted. The exhibition, JAHAN SE HUM AYE - the place we come from focused mainly on research, observation and interpretation of the vernacular. The documentation for macro, mezo and micro level studies were displayed on panels laid in the fashion of the streets of Ranipura. The architectural design projects were also a part of the display.
The focus though of the whole exhibition was the mixed media graphics installation art project. Six groups, according to their experience and observation of the village had to interpret a Ranipura 2090. Constructing a Ranipura 75 years from now (2015). The installations were process developed out of studying various elements that gave the village its true essence in a person, place, object study. These were then used as subjects to form a 2090 narrative for Ranipura, upon which an artistic interpretation was put forward.

75 years from now, Ranipura, a small village will obviously have changed. What happens twice happens for the third time as well.
The Virtual Dome
Ranipura is a self-sustaining village with their own sustainable systems of living.Over the years from 2015, the earth keeps degrading. All the wastes and pollution along with the growing population add to global warming and together completely destroys the balance of nature.
The story of Anand Kewat
People multiplied and cities expanded and finally a large climatic disaster overtook the world when storms rendered whole regions arid. The empty houses of Ranipura were destroyed; buried under layers of soil. Bare traces remained of that settlement. Decades passed.
Greek Invasion
The real drama began in the year of 2040 when the Greece was slowly becoming the major superpower in the whole world. They, being ambitious, tried to befriend them initially, but with the passage of time, they started to take over the politics of Ranipura in their hands.
Pathaal-Jad
This leads to the efflux of much of the labor force.The rest of the labor force in Ranipura feel abandoned, and betrayed by the now industrialists, and the landowners, who had once been one among them.This gives root to the birth of a group of people who call themselves, “Gangs of Ranipura”
